Early life

Kourtney Kardashian was born in Los Angeles and is the oldest child of late attorney Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner (née Houghton) and is the sister of Kim, Khloé and Rob Kardashian. She is of Armenian descent (father) and Dutch-Scottish American (mother) descent. Robert Kardashian, best known for being O. J. Simpson’s lawyer during his murder trial, died on September 30, 2003. Her mother divorced Robert Kardashian in 1989 and married former Olympian Bruce Jenner in 1991.

Kardashian attended the Roman Catholic all-girls school Marymount High School. Following graduation, she left California to move to Dallas where she attended Southern Methodist University for two years. She then moved to Tucson, Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona, graduating with a degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Spanish. Her classmates included Nicole Richie and Luke Walton.

Kourtney became the stepsister of three stepbrothers, (from oldest to youngest) Burt Jenner, Brandon Jenner and Brody Jenner, and stepsister Casey Jenner, after her mother Kris married Bruce Jenner. She also has two half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

Personal life

Kourtney and her mother opened up children's clothing boutiques in both the Los Angeles area (818) and New York City, called "Smooch", which carries the brand "Crib Rock Couture". As seen on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kourtney co-owns and operates D-A-S-H, a clothing boutique in Los Angeles and Miami (opened early 2009), with sisters Kim and Khloé. She and Khloé starred in their own reality show, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami which highlighted their single lives in a new city and their opening of D-A-S-H in Miami.

Kourtney also starred in reality show, "Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive" (2005) to earn money for charity.

Charlize Theron (pronounced /ʃɑrˈliːz ˈθɛrən/, shar-LEEZ THERR-ən; born August 7, 1975) is a South African actress, film producer, and former fashion model. She became an American citizen in 2007.

She rose to fame in the late 1990s following her roles in 2 Days in the Valley, Mighty Joe Young, The Devil's Advocate, and The Cider House Rules. She received critical acclaim and an Academy Award for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster, for which she became the first person from any African country to win an Academy Award in a major acting category. She received another Academy Award nomination for her performance in North Country.

Early life

Theron was born in Benoni, Transvaal Province, South Africa, the only child of Gerda Jacoba Aletta (née Maritz; born January 27, 1953) and Charles Jacobus Theron (died 1990). Her mother is of German descent and her father was of French and Dutch ancestry; Theron is directly descended from early Huguenot settlers, and Boer War figure Daniel Theron was her great-grandfather's brother. "Theron" is an Occitan surname (originally spelled Théron) pronounced in Afrikaans as "Tronn", although she said that the way it is pronounced in South Africa is "Thrown".

Although fluent in American English, her first language is Afrikaans. She grew up on her parents' farm in Benoni, near Johannesburg. She attended Putfontein Primary School (Laerskool Putfontein). At the age of 13, Theron was sent to boarding school and began her studies at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg. At the age of 16, Theron traveled to Milan on a one-year modeling contract, after winning a local competition. She went to New York with Pauline's Model Management. Kristin Landen Davis (also listed as Kristin Lee Davis; born February 24, 1965) is an American actress, known for playing the role of Charlotte York Goldenblatt on HBO's Sex and the City.

Early life and education

Davis was born in Boulder, Colorado. An only child, her parents divorced when she was a baby. She was adopted by her stepfather, professor Keith Davis, after he married her mother, Dorothy, a university data analyst, in 1968. She has three sisters from her adoptive father's first marriage. Early in her childhood, she and her parents moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where her father served as provost and teaches psychology at the University of South Carolina.

Davis wanted to be an actress from the age of 10, when she was cast in a community theater production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Davis lived in South Carolina until she graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1983. She then moved to New Jersey, where she attended Rutgers University. Davis graduated with a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University's Mason Gross School of the Arts in 1987.

After graduation in 1987, Davis moved to New York and waited tables before opening a yoga studio with a friend. This just in! Jennifer Aniston doesn’t eat baby food. Well, not any more anyway…

Apparently, rumours have been rife that the romcom queen’s enviable figure is all down to a diet called The Baby Food Cleanse, created by celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson. It involves eating 14 servings of pureéd food each day, followed by a healthy dinner.

Well, as delicious as that may sound, it turns out Jen’s not sold on the idea.

“Sorry, but the last time I had baby food, I believe I was one,” the 41-year-old actress told People magazine. “I’ve been on solids for about 40 years now.”

Well, I’m glad that little misunderstanding’s all cleared up - aren’t you? (Puh! Next thing she’ll be telling us she’s been properly potty-trained, too.)

The split was confirmed in a joint statement from their spokesman that read "Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton can confirm that they have decided to go their separate ways. The two of them have decided to focus fully on their careers and will remain close friends."

Nicole, the 31-year-old Pussycat Dolls frontwoman, and Lewis, the 25-year-old Formula 1 world champion in 2008, first met at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November 2007. They started dating in May 2008.

Cyrus' blockbuster show Hannah Montana is getting ready to wrap production forever in 2010, reps for Disney confirmed to the New York Post Friday. The Disney Channel series -- about average teen "Miley Stewart" who secretly moonlights as pop star Hannah Montana -- begins shooting its fourth season Jan. 18. But Hannah's swan song won't actually air until next year: a source tells UsMagazine.com that episodes for season four will begin airing "this summer and will carry over to 2011, which is when series finale will take place."

Hannah Montana's season-three finale, "Is Miley Saying Goodbye?" airs in mid-March, and mirrors the actress-singer's own growing pains. In a year when retailing flat-lined, when a flailing economy sent creative types scurrying for aesthetic foxholes, when the most indelible fashion image was of a dead man’s sequin glove, a single unlikely figure raised the flag for style and its power to confound, bewitch and amuse.

That person is a 23-year-old New Yorker of outsized ambition and middling talents, a onetime Catholic school girl with a Duchampian show-business handle, a self-promoter so tireless she made Paris Hilton look like a lay-about; a woman so assured of her superlatively good bad taste that she was in a fetish-wear gown to meet the Queen of England.

That person, of course, is Lady Gaga.

If 2009 produced little in the way of enduring style phenomena, it did give us Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, a musician whose hooky dance tunes would barely rate a second playing on karaoke night, yet who made it all but impossible to avert one’s gaze from her ongoing spectacle.

Whether clad in a dress of plastic spheres, a monstrous Dutch Boy wig with full S & M leathers; bodysuits and stilettos and a cage that caused her to resemble a walking armillary, Lady Gaga made better use of modern media than almost anybody except the current leader of the free world.

Like Barack Obama, with whom she shares no connection beyond an epic Q rating, Lady Gaga billboards her inspirations. Unlike those of the president, her idols are not Beltway policy geeks or Nobel laureates, but gloriously marginal types and representatives of the cultural dregs. For inspiration, she cites the performance artists Leigh Bowery and Klaus Nomi, and the singer Grace Jones in the intensely stylized period when her image was being masterminded by the brilliant artist-Svengali Jean Paul Goude. She names David Bowie, too, or anyway the David Bowie of Ziggy Stardust vintage, which was about the last time he gave his audiences anything worthwhile to look at.

Lady Gaga makes no bones about assimilating the lessons of celebrities who built careers by tapping into the talents of other and even larger talents (Madonna leaps to mind). But her singular innovation on the sincerest form of flattery has been to barge right past imitation to outright larceny.

Lady Gaga mashes up. She patches together what she finds in the cultural image bank. She takes her own rather nondescript (but pretty) person and subjects herself to a real-time version of Photoshop, studiously and at times laboriously conjuring up an over-the-top creation built from bits of Bowery and Nomi and Jones and Bowie, but also Liberace, Joey Arias and Kylie Minogue.

Although Andy Warhol died just a year after Stefani Germanotta came into the world, and decades before Lady Gaga was willed into being, he was correct as usual in forecasting a time when there would be “new categories of people” being “put up there” as stars. Those people, he wrote in “The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again),” would be made up of parts. And their fans, freed from the obligation to idolize a “whole person,” could choose which dimension of a star they wanted to love. Lady Gaga is rigged for that stardom: her persona is an amalgam of surfaces, faceted though not truly 3-D, addictive in the way video games are.

Like an emissary from a parallel world familiar to Second Life types, she is a real-life avatar.

And it is probably for that reason that designers have been so hypnotized by her image. Weary perhaps of the drudgery involved in producing actual clothing, designers were attracted to a star who thinks little of going about in outfits that hobble the body or masks that make it impossible to see.

Lady Gaga “lives for” fashion, she has said. She imagines the clothes she will wear to perform her songs in as she is writing them. She employs a team of stylists known as the Haus of Gaga. She has transformed herself into a cartoon muse who has inspired no less than Marc Jacobs and Alexander McQueen.

Those dandelion Afro wigs at Mr. Jacobs’s spring 2010 show for Louis Vuitton seemed to owe an aesthetic debt to Lady Gaga, with a scale so absurd that a viewer forgot about race, and also forgot that the models had faces or were even human in any significant way. Likewise the beast boots and Star Trek eyes and horned coiffures at Mr. McQueen’s spring 2010 show, which forced the boundaries between fashion and morphology, as Lady Gaga does routinely, suggesting experiments that even the most extreme surgery addicts have yet to undergo.

More than an ordinary pop star or fashion muse, Lady Gaga seems closer to a gamer’s creation. Her synth-pop music, with its hiccup hooks, help explain why she is rated No. 3 in Billboard’s annual recap of Top Artists of the year, and why she was also termed the top new artist on that same list, and why her name is among those most often searched on the Web. But the voice without the package would equal a novelty act in a Singapore hotel lounge.

That she is the whole package is what made Lady Gaga so hard to ignore this year. And lest anyone fail to see that the package is the message, she makes it a point to go out now and then with her hair styled in a gigantic blond bow.

Avril Lavigne, actually Avril Ramona Lavigne, was born on September 27, 1984. Avril Lavigne is a Canadian pop punk singer/songwriter and actress who is well known for her "skater punk" persona. Her two albums to date, Let Go (2002) and Under My Skin (2004), have topped the charts in numerous countries. Although her name is of French origin, she herself does not speak French and her name is pronounced in an anglicized way, more or less as "La-veen" (although, actual pronunciation should be "La-Vine"). Her first name, Avril, means "April" in French and is pronounced "Av-reel" (anglicized "Ahv-ril").

Born in Belleville, Ontario to conservative Franco-Ontarian Christian parents John and Judy Lavigne, Avril grew up in Napanee; having moved there at the age of five. It was in Napanee that she sang country music and in a church choir and taught herself to play guitar. Avril Lavigne was discovered by her first professional manager, Cliff Fabri, while singing country covers at a Chapters bookstore in Kingston, Ontario. During a performance with the Lennox Community Theatre, Avril was spotted by Steve Medd, a local folksinger, who invited her to perform vocals on his song Touch The Sky for his 1999 album Quinte Spirit. Suitably impressed, he invited her back to perform vocals on Temple Of Life and Two Rivers for his followup album, My Window To You in 2000. Avril Lavigne co-wrote a song, "Breakaway", which was recorded by Kelly Clarkson for the soundtrack to the film The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004) and was later included on Clarkson's second album, Breakaway, being released as the album's first single. It went on to peak at #6 in the US and provided Clarkson with a substantial hit. One source reports that Lavigne will release a new album some time in the spring of 2006. Her third album is supposed to be released during the middle of 2006. Avril Lavigne formerly traveled with a bag full of about thirty neck ties. Some of them she bought, and the rest of them she took from her father and some were sent to her by fanmail. Hollywood beauty Megan Fox will not be killed off in the third installment of the superhit franchise ‘Transformers’, instead a “great part” is being written for her by director Michael Bay.

“She’s got a great part in ‘Transformers 3′,” the helmet said on Fox, who had courted controversy by comparing him to Hitler, reported Ace Showbiz.

Asked if he plan to kill her off in the third ‘Transformers’ movie, Bay who is currently working on the script said, “No, no, no. She gets enough of that already.”

Beside Fox, Shia LaBeouf is also set to return to ‘Transformers 3′ as Sam Witwicky.

Meanwhile, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman who have been involved in the writing of the first two movies, will not be returning to the script duties for next instalment.

Heidi Klum no more! Victoria's Secret beauty Heidi Klum has officially dropped the Klum in her name and taken her husband Seal's last name, Samuel.

Heidi submitted paperwork for the name change last month in court, citing 'marriage' as the reason for the change.

Heidi decided it was time to make the change legally after four years of marriage and three children together. Heidi also has a daughter from a previous relationship.

There's no word on whether she'll adopt his name professionally too, but we're hoping she doesn't. While it's cute that she adopted her husband's last name, with a name like Heidi Klum, you're practically destined to be famous! Heidi Samuel, not so much.

Meanwhile, while at the Victoria's Secret show in New York, Heidi took time out of her busy schedule to talk to Hollyscoop exclusively about her holiday plans.

"For Thanksgiving, five days, I'm going to be home cooking up a big fat Turkey and sweet potatoes with the marshmallows on top," Heidi told Hollyscoop exclusively backstage at the Victoria's Secret show in New York.

We all know Mariah Carey is a diva, but her recent demands were so outrageous, it was literally impossible to accommodate.

Mariah was asked to switch on the lights at Westfield shopping center in West London, which sounds like a fairly simple task, but of course Mimi had to complicate things.

She asked for 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to accompany her at the extravagant event. She also asked to be showered with butterfly-shaped confetti while standing on a custom made pink podium and waving a magic wand.

A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "We did manage to source the doves that we were going to release into the sky, but the kittens proved terribly difficult.

"In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety, there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield. Pets are not allowed in Westfield - that rule would apply for everyone.

Speaking about her diva reputation, Mariah recently said, "You know what? I guess I am a diva in many ways! When it comes to certain things, yes, I can be difficult and a little bit rigid about what I want. Am I demanding? I don't think I'm demanding enough."

It doesn't sound like Mariah would ever think she's "demanding enough." Someone really needs to tone it down a bit!

Jennifer Lopez was born on July 24, 1970. Her parents came to New York from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Jennifer Lopez is the middle of three sisters.

Jennifer Lopez went on her first tour - around New York City with her dance class at the age of 7. At the age of 16 Jennifer got a little break with a bit part in the film ''My Little Girl'' (starring Mary Stuart Masterson).

Her first love was still dance, and when she read about a scholarship to a dance school in Manhattan, she went down and grabbed the opportunity. At this time she was taking a full time course load at Baruch, working in a law office and taking her dance classes. Early Career:
Mariah Carey began singing at the young age of four and writing songs in middle school. She moved to New York City the day after high school graduation to pursue a career in music. Paying her dues as a backup singer, she was noticed by vocalist Brenda K. Starr who forwarded Mariah's demo to Sony Entertainment Chief Tommy Mottola. Soon after, Mottola signed her to a recording contract with Columbia Records.

Pop Star:
Mariah Carey's self-titled 1990 debut album was one of the biggest hit first albums of all time. Between that album and the followup Emotions, she scored an unprecedented 5 #1 singles in a row. Songs like "Vision Of Love," "Someday," and "Emotions" dominated the radio airwaves.

In June 1993 Mariah Carey married Tommy Mottola in a high-profile celebrity wedding. Later in the year she released her third album Music Box which sold 10 million copies. She left the contract with Virgin Records in 2002 with a reported $28 million buyout. The album Charmbracelet tried to put the magic back together but sales were flat. Then, in one of the most amazing comebacks in pop music history, Mariah Carey's The Emancipation Of Mimi debuted at the top of the pop album chart in April 2005, the first of her albums to do so since 1997's Butterfly. It included the smash hit "We Belong Together" which spent 14 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The next album E=MC2 was released in April 2008. It included Mariah Carey's 18th #1 pop single in the US "Touch My Body." Lee Hyori was member of Korean pop girls group Fin.K.L. (Fine Killing Liberty) that debuted in 1998. FinKL later went dormant when 2 of the 4 girls decided not to pursue a singing career.

It was Oak Joo-hyun who first introduced her successful solo album before Lee Hyori solo debut that rocked the Korean music industry in 2003, with her album “Stylish E.”

Utada Hikaru released her first Japanese single “Automatic” in 1999 and was an instant hit. Shortly after that Utada released her first Japanese album, “First Love” that sold over 10 million copies across Asia. “First Love” is still until today the best selling music album in Japan.

In 2000 Utada went back to US for further study in Columbia University; her university life was interrupted when she released her 2nd and 3rd Japanese album “Distance” (2001) and “Deep River” (2002) which both sold for multi million copies.

Utada Hikaru didn’t finish her university studies due to health issues and a busy successful singing career.

Utada Hikaru then surprised many when she married Kazuaki Kiriya, a photographer she worked with numerous times, shortly after the released of Deep River in 2002.

In 2004 Utada Hikaru released her ambitious English album “Exodus” that was not very successful in US market. Her single “Devil Inside” however managed to become a disco club hit and claimed #1 spot at Billboard Hot Dance/Club Airplay charts.

Utada Hikaru has just released her 4th Japanese album, “Ultra Blue” in June 2006.

Utada’s musical success is often compared to another Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki, especially in the early 2000s. Their rivalry is not as fierce now with the rising of other Japanese pop stars.

Matsushima Nanako started modeling at 18 as swimsuit model for various commercial advertisements, and featured in some budget TV shows.

Nanako’s breakthrough was in 1996 when she got the chance to star in NHK production “Himawari” (Sunflower); in the same year that she also starred in Asia hit movie “Ringu,” which was adapted by Hollywood movie “The Ring” years later.

Anna Tsuchiya (土屋アンナ) is a Japanese singer, lyricist, actress, and semi-retired model. Anna was born to a Japanese mother and a Russian-American father. She has a younger brother, Kenneth and an older sister, Angela, who is a model as well. n mid 2002, Tsuchiya joined with former Oblivion Dust member K.A.Z to form Spin Aqua. The duo released three singles, one album, and a video collection, but didn't fare well commercially. They later slipped into hiatus before permanently disbanding in 2004, due to Tsuchiya's pregnancy.

Tsuchiya was quiet musically until 2005, when she announced plans to go solo for the first time. She would write the lyrics to almost all of her songs in Japanese/English, having better command of an English accent than her peers. However she is not a fluent speaker of English. On August 24, 2005 she released her first mini-album, Taste My Beat under Avex's sub-label, Mad Pray Records. Then released her first single Change your life and the second single called Slap that Naughty Body / My Fate. She also released her first remix album, Taste My Xxxremixxxxxxx!!!!!!!! Beat Life! on the same day.

Her third single, Rose was used as the opening theme from the Nana anime, alongside fellow Avex artist OLIVIA Lufkin who would be singing the ending theme song. The hype brought from this release boosted Tsuchiya's music career a lot, as "Rose" managed to reach a position of #6 on Oricon charts (her first top 10 placement, and 21 placings above her next best placing product at the time).

Then, Tsuchiya made her first overseas appearance at the Japan Expo in Paris, France in July 2006. And to reinforce her growing popularity in Japan, Tsuchiya's debut studio album, Strip Me? was released shortly afterwards. The album features a growing number of commercial tie-up songs, which includes ones for Whiteen, Kirin, and Kosé Visée. She returned in early 2007 with a new single called "Kuroi Namida", which was used as the new ending theme song for the Nana anime. This was followed by the third Nana anime opening single, "Lucy" in early February which directly preceded a second full length album self-titled Anna Tsuchiya Inspi' Nana (Black Stones) which contains the singles from the show and some new songs; then a quasi-soundtrack album called Nana Best which includes some popular and some unreleased songs by both OLIVIA Lufkin and Tsuchiya from the TV series.

Both Lufkin's and Tsuchiya's songs from these albums were played at Shibuya AX in March 2007. Then, Tsuchiya did a called "world fes tour", starting in June 30 at Anime Expo 2007 in U.S., following in July 27 at Pentaport rock festival in Korea and in July 29 at Formoz Festival in Taiwan, then a summer tour in Japan, including a performance for second time at Summer Sonic Festival.

Among all that, she released the single Bubble Trip / Sweet Sweet Song in August 1. The single Cocoon was released on January 30th of 2008, and in June Tsuchiya released another single called Crazy World with the collaboration of the Japanese artist AI. She then released another single in September, called Virgin Cat, which was used to promote the show The L Word in Japan. A month later she followed up with her third full length album (second non-NANA related), NUDY SHOW!, which contained her singles from "Kuroi Namida" to "Virgin Cat". The latest is a remix album called Nudy xxxremixxxxxxx!!!!!!!! Show!.
